I’m not sure what my deal is but I will rarely buy shoes retail. I have been lucky enough to find some absolute steals at my local thrift stores along with Depop. Before the surge of thrifting and second-hand shopping, I could walk into my local charity shop and easily find a pair of Air Force 1s or Jordan 1s. Now, that is usually not the case. Here are a few of my favorites (and yes, I do know that they are dirty! They are well-loved).
Read MoreI have been dying to check out the Silverlake Flea Market. My roommates and I finally had the opportunity to go last weekend, and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. The venue was the perfect, digestible size and allowed for complete exploration of the entire market. I find that places like Melrose Trading Post become overwhelming and discourage me from truly taking the time to look through all of the items. Go check this out if you are looking for a beginner-friendly option!
Read MoreAlthough this blog was originally started to teach ways to find awesome gems second-hand, my focus has grown to encompass this wave of sustainability. Trying to make eco-friendly switches is something I have incorporated into my day-to-day life: I have been vegetarian for the last 9 years, I made the switch to plant-based milks, and I do my best to only purchase clothing second-hand.
Read MoreHow would you describe “California style”?
A lot of it is taken from celebrities, especially young celebrities like Kaia Gerber, Amelia Hamlet, and Delilah Hamlet because we were all kind of friends with them at a certain point. One week you will be friends with someone and the next week you won’t know them because they have gotten big so you end up following a lot of people on Instagram. A lot of girls look at influencers and celebrities on Instagram and pull their style inspiration from them. You obviously have Brandy Melville which changed a lot of people’s perspective on style. LA is kind of a melting pot since you have people coming from every other state. I have seen a lot of people coming from different places like New York and they have a very different take on style. I don’t think Los Angeles has its own style but I do think we dress differently than the rest of California.
Read MoreIn Florida we don’t have your typical ‘winter weather’. December is usually 72 and sunny so I take any chance I get to bundle up. That’s why thrift stores are my ideal stop for coats and jackets, I don’t have to hand over the big bucks for a piece I might only get to wear once or twice a year. Leopard print has become one of my more recent loves so as soon as I saw this incredible coat for $6.99 I had to scoop it! I paired it with a simple black floppy hat and bodycon dress from ASOS that works as a great basis year round. Hopefully this gives you some inspo to incorporate some fun patterns into your winter wardrobe. :) Much love, B

Whether it is a glass bangle as a handle (like in the first purse), a horse show ribbon as the frame of a portrait (like in the second bag), or a beads from a broken necklace (like in the first purse). She has an entire room filled with bits and bobs like buttons, tassels, and fabrics. Her motto is if you don’t love it the way it is, dye it, cut it, embroider it. She will buy vintage purses and add miscellaneous things that people wouldn’t normally think twice about and make something beautiful. She creates purses out of miscellaneous sundries that are so unique and embody her personality and style. Here are a few of her beautiful pieces:

Read MoreMarshalls is the equivalent of Target for me. I go in there to buy a pair of socks and walk out with an entire new wardrobe. When I saw this sweet boho top I said yes please! It is easy, breezy, beautiful and perfect for the 10 months of summer we have here in Florida. I paired it with these vintage Levi shorts and thrifted black booties which are the only thing with a heel I can walk in without resembling a baby giraffe.

Read MoreI don’t know about you but homecoming is one of my favorite days of the year. How could I go to hoco without my best friends, Aqueena and Sara? Everyone is looking beautiful and having the time of their lives droppin’ it low on the dance floor! However, let’s be real, it’s all fun and games until your bill for the night’s look ends up being upwards of 300 big ones. Being a thrifty sister, I said absolutely not and decided to scavenge through ASOS’s sale section. There, I found this gem.

Read MoreSo, here's the scoop: baggy t-shirts are the move. They are cheap, soft and can be amped up easily! American Apparel came out with a baggy cropped top (this is a similar one from Topshop) I have been coveting for years but I can't justify $40 for a shirt I can make for $3! This DIY is EASY! You'll be rockin' it in minutes.
Read MoreI make it a point to always investigate every section of the thrift store, you truly never know what you may find. The boys section has seemed to always be a great place to start, especially for pants. I found these amazing pants for $3 and have paired them with yet another thrifted score: my belt. I've found that these tops are a dime a dozen and oh so handy to have to go with your fun printed bottoms or even to rock a monochromatic look.
Read MoreWe all know the go-to thrifted gem is the perfect "mom jean"- high waisted, tailored leg, cuffed bottom. They are perfect to throw on with a cute crop top and some sneakers for a casual hang with your best friend or they can be dressed up with a classy top and some heels for an gorgeous night out.
Read MoreI was browsing up and down the isles of a run down Kingston thrift shop looking out for anything that would catch my eye when my mom exclaimed in excitement, “You have to try this on!”- a handmade dress adorning the mannequin. I wasn’t so sure since I was accustomed to the basic above the knee cuts but I decided to give it a go and once I tried it on I was so glad I did. The bright pattern and sweet cut of this dress ensured me that this was a great find. I looked down at the price tag to see that it was a measly $7! A handmade dress for less than $10- who could want anything more? I paired it with some Target lace up sandals, some sunnies from a local shop, and these delightful disc earrings. I’ve linked some similar items so enjoy!
Read MoreOoooooh baby do I love finding some cool kicks at the thrift store. Shoes are one of my favorite accessories, but I have a really hard time splurging because I'm so hard on them. If you're the same, why not look second hand? These babies were in the boys section for $10 and you bet I scooped them up. If you are a size 9 or under, youth shoes will fit you. I'm 8.5/9 in women's and these 6.5 Y fit me like a glove! If you're anything like me, and really enjoy being over the top, sneakers are the perfect way to tone down the extra. This skirt is from Zara (here is a dupe ) and this hoodie is another thrifted gem that I cropped above the pocket. What would this outfit be without my go to bamboo hoops?. They are more flavorful than your average joe earrings and add extra sauce to whatever 'fit you're rocking.
